what is the layer of soft cotton sewed between fabrics called?
I’ ve been seeing people sewing those coin pouches or handphone pouches, and between the inner layer and outer layer of the fabric, they have this layer of soft cotton.
It makes the pouches look puffier and it sort of have a function to protect your phone or something.
What is that layer called?
It is called batting. It comes in packages large enough to do a quilt with one sheet, though. In order to get a small amount, you probably need to go to a quilt specialty store, where they would be more likely to sell it by the yard.
