The golf world is not prepared for Phil Mickelson and left-handed course design by Corthing
I wasn’t entirely awesome with Tiger jumping into golf design, and I am flat-out AGAINST Phil following suit together with his new design endeavors, although for different reasons.
With Tiger, my beef was essentially that he’s a sell-out who is going to do only increase vegetables costs while the overall game needs less expensive options.
For Phil, my issue is simple: He’s left-handed.
It does not have a genius to understand Phil’s design strategy (or conspiracy) will pander to left-handed golfers, all 5 % of these. Us righty’s have loved numerous decades having a monopoly of courses created by individuals who play golf the “right” way.
Now Phil is to rain on our parade. Surely he’s plotting a number of subtle design nuances which will provide the edge to more inferior lefty gamers. Tee boxes may have little humps making it flatter to tee off lefty. Sand traps all will be short and right from the eco-friendly. That is not all. Ball washing machines is going to be on the other side from the tee box. If he’s as shrewd when i think, he’ll also design holes invoice discounting the sun’s location at peak occasions of day to blind right-handers.
If history can train us anything, it’s that being left-handed is really a curse. In ancient Sparta, among other cultures, whenever a child was identified with lefthandism, he was usually wiped out immediately otherwise banned from civilization. The current age range are less crude obviously, but that does not mean these sub-perfect humans ought to be free entirely.
Look, I had been born left-handed. However I found an effective solution early. Despite an all natural instinct to setup lefty, I’d the experience to determine an eternity to be labeled a circus freak, as well as think it is near-impossible to discover a decent group of used irons. After I appreciate everyday fuzzy old pictures from Scotland, I do not see anybody swinging their niblick the wrong manner. They are swinging such as the all-powerful Golf Gods intended. Designers Old Tom Morris and Jesse Ross were right-handers and laid the building blocks for all of us. This liberal lefty is attempting to rewrite history starting on these frivolous projects.
Pandering to his fellow kin may be the only way possible I see Phil even getting a distinct segment in design, thinking about we could not possibly have any longer courses “playable for those abilitiesInch, right?

Fortunately for almost all us, a structured boycott of left-handed golf design should have the ability to reduce the effects of their make an effort to damage our game created by old-fashioned, God-fearing righties – from Old Tom to Nicklaus and Player.
Listen Phil, design all your ten courses or whatever, be sure that you make room around the left for any beer tent on some of their 18th’s, and message me once the press trip continues to be planned.

Architect of U.S. golf as you may know it Jesse Ross holds the right-handed club: a sure hint to future decades to not allow lefties behind a blueprint as well as C.A.D.
